Back Pain From Inadequate Chair and Lab Set-up

Problem

Back and neck injury prevents seated posture and extended reach for lengthy periods at lab station preventing work task performance.

Issue

Unadjustable and improper support from inadequate chair determined the triggering mechanism.

Forward lean from inadequate chair support triggers severe pain

Solution

Replaced current chair with highly adjustable supportive chair appropriate to lab technician anatomical dimensions.  Remapped and relocated working methodology of elements within the air chamber with special racks and holders to minimize forward lean and reach

Result

All forward lean and extended reach minimized with the new supportive chair (especially at the lumbar area).  Full time return to air chamber duties.

New highly adjustable chair with proper support for lumbar area and pelvic tilt

Specialized racks and holders with modified working methodology minimized extended reach
